Two events promote Go Red for Women
Two events in southeast Michigan this month will highlight the American Heart Association’s five-year-old effort focusing attention on women and heart disease.
The Ann Arbor Go Red For Women Luncheon will be held February 13, 2009, at the Morris Lawrence Building, Washtenaw Community College, 4800 E. Huron River Drive. The day’s events will be devoted to helping women learn what they can do to prevent heart disease, the number one killer of women, and include educational breakout sessions, massages and health screenings and a Red Dress Fashion Show, as well as a “heart healthy” lunch with guest speakers. A silent auction will raise funds for the American Heart Association.
The February 25 Metro Detroit Go Red For Women Luncheon will be held at the Detroit Marriott Renaissance Center in Detroit from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The day will include interactive health exhibits, massages and educational breakout sessions, a silent auction and Red Dress Fashion Show, with a “heart healthy” lunch featuring inspiring speakers and educators.
